Factors : factors are the set of numbers which exactly divides the given number.  2. Multiples : set of numbers which are exactly divisible by the given number are multiples of the given number For example  If the number is 4 then { 4, 2, 1 } is the set of factors while { 4, 8, 16 ,32...} is the set of multiples of 4 . 

Series A number series is a sequence of numbers written from left to right in a certain pattern. To solve these types of questions on series we have to find the pattern that is followed in the series between the consecutive terms so that wrong or missing can be find out.  Types of series There can be following types of series 1. Prime number series The number series which is divisible by 1 and itself is called a prime number. The series formed by using prime number is called prime number series 2. Addition Series The series in which next term is obtained by adding a specific number to the previous term is known as addition series. We will discuss what is number system, types of numbers, face and place values of digits in number.  Que what is number system?  Answer A system in which we study different types of numbers their relationship and rules govern in them is called number system.  Face and place values of the digits in the number Face value In a numeral the face value of a digit is the value of the digit itself irrespective of its place value in numeral.  For example In the numeral 879654 the face value of 8 is 8 and 7 is 7 and so on.  Place value In a numeral the place value of a digit changes according to the change of its place.  For example  In the numeral 23897 Place value of 8= place value of thousands digit =Digit at thousands place × 10^3 = 8 × 10^3 = 8000
